Hunters and Hikers

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy currently owns and manages almost 10,000 acres, including Bear Run Nature Reserve in Fayette County, areas encompassing Lake Pleasant in Erie County, and portions of Sideling Hill Creek in Bedford and Fulton counties.  These lands, and some on which we hold conservation easements (e.g., the 11,000-acre Crawford Reserve in Venango County) are open for public use and enjoyment.

Permitted Activities

Activities that are permitted on these lands may include hiking, geocaching, camping, hunting, and fishing.  However, to protect the natural qualities of the areas we conserve, certain activities, such as off-road vehicle use (e.g., ATVs, dirt bikes, mountain bikes, or snowmobiles) are prohibited.

To assist us in being responsible stewards of this land, all visitors should review and adhere to the Conservancy’s Land Use Policies and Guidelines.
